CVMNEXT served as project manager for The Discovery Center, a collaboration between Audubon Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia Outward Bound School. This project preserves a virtually unknown and inaccessible reservoir site in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park by creating a state-of-the-art environmental educational center. In addition to re-purposing the reservoir, the project includes a 16,000 SF building that serves as base of operations for both organizations and offers the community ecological conservation and leadership development programs.

CVMNEXT spearheaded the development, preconstruction and design phases of the project, assisting the client with the complex task of navigating local and state approval processes, negotiating a lease for the site with the City of Philadelphia and assembling a design team to deliver this special project. CVMNEXT also provided cost-modeling services to ensure that the project budget and scope remained in alignment with fundraising efforts.
