The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Volvér
Located within Commonwealth Plaza at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Volvér is the newest concept from Chef Jose Garces. The project has transformed underutilized gift shop space into a dynamic, 90-seat restaurant and bar, designed by KieranTimberlake and Marguerite Rodgers Interior Design. Accessible during performances and when the stage is dark, Volvér features intimate dining spaces adjacent to a dramatic open kitchen.
As construction manager, CVMNEXT successfully assisted the client, owner and architect to achieve design objectives and operational needs within budget. The scope of the work includes a complete gut renovation of the 3,000 SF space, the integration of standalone systems within the building infrastructure and the introduction of elegant new finishes. Self-supporting glass walls define the new expanded space along Spruce Street, simultaneously creating a separation from and link to the public space of the Plaza.
