Antioch Church of Philadelphia, New Sanctuary and Support Spaces
CVMNEXT completed a major renovation and expansion of this growing congregation’s facilities, located on a campus just outside Philadelphia. Totaling 48,200 SF, the project has provided the church with the necessary administrative and gathering space while completely transforming its primary place of worship.
A new glass entry leads to the reconfigured narthex, through which a cafeteria and offices are also accessible. The new sanctuary, a former high school gymnasium, is 16,600 SF and features state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment. New space for a full choir and band also contributes to a contemporary sensibility. Specific work includes upgrades to the existing electrical and mechanical systems of the building, and modifications to the existing bathrooms to improve ADA accessibility. The project was phased, allowing the church to remain open and operational during construction.
