Philadelphia city officials and community members gathered in North Philadelphia recently to ceremonially break ground on a new recreation center at the Stenton Park Playground. CVMNEXT is serving as general contractor for the $2.8 million dollar effort, which will demolish and replace an existing building, and upgrade the surrounding landscape by adding new playground equipment and installing a spray ground.
Designed by Atkin Olshin Schade Architects and Viridian Landscape Studio, the building will feature an energy-efficient mechanical system and lighting. A green roof and sub-surface infiltration basin will contribute to storm water management. The project is expected to be completed in spring of 2018. Check back for more updates.
